Windows is the series of operating systems developed by Microsoft.


Each version of Windows includes the graphical user interface, with a desktop that allows users to view folders and files in windows. For the past two decades, Windows has been the most widely used operating system for the PCs personal computers.

Microsoft Windows is designed for both professional and home computing purposes. Past versions of Windows home editions include the Windows 3.0 (1990), Windows 3.1 (1992), Windows 95 (1995), Windows 98 (1998), Windows Me (2000), Windows XP (2001), Windows Vista (2006) Windows 7 (2009) Windows 8 (2012) and the current version of Windows 10 released in 2015.

The first business-oriented version of Windows is called Windows NT 3.1, was in 1993. This was followed by the Windows 3.5, 4.0, and Windows 2000. When Microsoft released the Windows XP in 2001, the company simply created different editions of the operating system for business purposes and personal. The Windows Vista and Windows 7 have followed the same release strategy.

Windows is designed to run on standard x86 hardware (32-bit), such as Intel and AMD processors. Therefore, it can be installed on multiple brands of hardware, such as HP, Dell, Asus, and Sony computers, as well as home-built PCs. Windows 7 also includes the several touchscreen features, that allow the operating system to run on certain tablets and computers with touchscreen displays. Microsoft’s mobile operating system, Windows Phone, is designed specifically for smartphones and runs on the several brands of phones, including Nokia, HTC, and Samsung.

Microsoft windows was founded by Paul Allen and Bill Gates on April 4, 1975, to develop and sell BASIC interpreters for the Altair 8800. It rose to dominate the personal computer operating system market with MS-DOS in the mid-1980s which followed by Microsoft Windows. The Microsoft Corporation (MS) is an the American multinational technology company with headquarters in Redmond, Washington. It develops, manufactures, supports, licenses, and sells computer softwarepersonal computers, consumer electronics,  and related services. Its best-known software products are the Microsoft Office suite, the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems, and the Internet Explorer and Edge web browsers.


History of Microsoft Windows

          On 10th November 1983 Mr. Bill Gates announced Microsoft Windows. After that Microsoft Windows 1.0 is introduced on November 20, 1985, and is initially sold for $100.00. On 9th December 1987 Microsoft Windows 2.0 was released and is initially sold for $100.00.
